Cancer Resource Center: Free access to resource information and support at Community Cancer Care, located at Community Medical Center.
Gift Closets: Women battling cancer can go to the Gift Closet for free wigs, hats and scarves located at three locations in Missoula: (1) The American Cancer Society, 3550 Mullan Road, Suite 301, (2) Community Cancer Care at Community Medical Center and (3) Cancer Center of Montana at St. Patrick’s Hospital.
Health Insurance Assistance Service: MT cancer patients can call the American Cancer Society’s 24-hour toll-free number to speak with a health insurance specialist to ask about coverage and insurance programs specific to the state. Call 1 (800) 227-2345, 24/7.
Look Good…Feel Better: Trained cosmetologists offer free group sessions to teach female cancer patients beauty techniques to help enhance their appearance and self-image during chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Call (406) 728-1004 for dates, times and locations.
Patient Lodging Program: Designed for cancer patients and one caregiver who must travel more than 50 miles or 90 minutes to receive cancer treatment. Participating hotels provide complimentary or reduced rate rooms to patients on a space available basis. Call (800) 227-2345 2 weeks in advance to arrange lodging.
Reach to Recovery: Trained breast cancer survivor volunteers provide support via phone or in person to newly diagnosed breast cancer patients.
Relay For Life: The largest signature fund-raiser of the American Cancer Society which includes survivor celebrations and memorial events.
Road to Recovery: Trained volunteer drivers provide free rides to treatments and home again. Call (800) 227-2345 for more information.
